Convening
& Facilitation

SSA has proven expertise in leading meaningful, social impact-oriented convenings. The team has mastered the ability to plan an experience in which people come together to actively and meaningfully engage with one another, led primarily by a social justice or impact lens. We have extensive experience organizing and facilitating in-person, multi-day convenings, such as nonprofit leader retreats, donor engagement experiences, or peer learning trips. SSA has also successfully led countless virtual convenings, from board meetings to webinars. Regardless of the preferred platform for convening—whether in person or online—we turn our clients’ visions into reality by facilitating all aspects of an event that best suits their needs.

Client Story:
Safe Passage Project

The Safe Passage Project provides free lawyers to refugee and immigrant children in the NYC-area who face deportation back to life-threatening situations, despite their strong legal claim to stay in the United States. SSA supported field engagement among donors and staff by organizing and executing a three-day site visit to the US-Mexico border, as well as an immigration detention facility, meeting with nonprofit leaders and directly impacted immigrants and their families.
